This is a collection of Tufts projects that examine student thinking as evident in video data from classes and other learning environments. The projects vary in levels, disciplines and emphases; what they all have in common is that they provide extended views of students at work.

We hope the cases here will serve researchers who study learning and instruction, as in situ data to complement large N results from surveys and exams, as well as educators who are interested to develop practices of responsive teaching, that is in learning to recognize, interpret, and engage with students’ thinking as it emerges.
